Flights from Grenchen – Two historic aircraft
Grenchen airfield is the starting point for two special historical flying experiences: an open biplane sightseeing flight in the Bücker Jungmann and a flight in the Stinson L-5, an original preserved aircraft of the Swiss Air Force.
Your flights from Grenchen in detail
The biplane sightseeing flight in an open Bücker Jungmann from Grenchen is a classic among historical flight experiences: with an open cockpit, wind in your face and the unmistakable sound of the radial engine, you will experience the Mittelland region as it was in the early days of aviation.
The Stinson L-5 of the Swiss Air Force is a very special historical artifact: Built in 1944, this aircraft with a 185-hp Lycoming engine was forced to make an emergency landing in the Jura Mountains on October 12, 1944, and subsequently served as the A-96 in the Swiss Air Force. Faithfully restored in 2006, it remains airworthy to this day and is flown by experienced pilots Christoph Dubler and Niko Koch.
