You are allowed to take photos and videos before and after the flight free of charge. Videos during the flight can be bookedTo do this, make sure to add the video option when booking your flight.
How long does the entire experience last?
The entire flight experience, including preparations and briefing, takes approximately 2 hours.
What is the process?
Your adventure in the premier class of aerobatics begins! The journey begins with an introduction to the Votec 322 – a true masterpiece of aviation technology. Your pilot will reveal the secrets behind this high-performance aerobatic aircraft and is ready to answer all your questions. Take a moment to take impressive photos and admire the pure elegance of this marvel up close. Then things get serious: During the briefing, you'll learn all about the daring flight maneuvers planned. Once you've taken your seat in the cockpit – a high-tech Formula 1 marvel made of carbon fiber – the seven safety belts will make you a part of the aircraft. Your pilot will familiarize you with the highly sensitive instruments, because you, too, will take control of this technical marvel! The engine test run is complete, and now the spectacle begins: With a deep breath, you experience how 350 horsepower catapults the featherweight Votec across the runway at lightning speed. Seconds later, you'll be in the air – ready to fully enjoy the magic and thrill of top-class aerobatics.
After your flight, there's plenty of time to capture unforgettable moments: whether it's taking souvenir photos in the cockpit and in front of the aircraft with the pilot, sharing lively accounts of your thrilling heroic ride, or reflecting on the experience together. A refreshing drink in the cozy airfield restaurant usually rounds off the day. The entire experience lasts approximately two hours.
What should I wear, what equipment do I need?
Wear comfortable clothing, and maybe bring a spare T-shirt. Adrenaline, excitement, and G-forces have resulted in many a sweaty passenger! You'll be equipped with a flight suit, parachute, and headset.
What are the maximum size and weight?
If you're over 1.90m and 105kg, we recommend taking a closer look and checking with the pilot. If in doubt, you can also quickly test-sit.
Are aerobatics dangerous?
No. Take a closer look and, if in doubt, consult your doctor if you have severe back problems, untreated high blood pressure, heart problems/pacemakers, or a fear of flying. Pregnancy is a non-conformist. If you have a fear of flying or claustrophobia, you can also try out the seat first while we have another customer. If it doesn't work out, you'll of course get your money back.
Should I be afraid of the flight?
No! Your aerobatic program will be completely tailored to your wishes, your preferences, and, above all, your well-being. Your pilot will be at your side at all times and will ask how you feel after each maneuver. Together, you will create a flight program that perfectly fulfills your personal idea of thrill and enjoyment. It's not about the pilot demonstrating his limits or capabilities or showing you what the aircraft can do – you are the focus! Your opinion counts: Let us know early on if you would like any adjustments – longer breaks between maneuvers, lower G-forces, or changes to the procedure. Your well-being is our top priority, and your pilot will do everything to make your experience unforgettable. If you have a fear of flying or claustrophobia, you can also try sitting in the seat first.
Max Vogelsang and Votec
Max Vogelsang began his career as a carpenter in his father's business before discovering his passion for aviation. He started out as a glider pilot and then switched to propeller aircraft. Eager to prove his craftsmanship, he began restoring vintage Swiss warbirds from the Second World War, including a P-51 Mustang, a C36, and a Morane. He not only restored these remarkable fighters, he also flew them. He shared the captivating appearance and rattling sound of his warbirds with countless people through his airshow appearances. In doing so, Max Vogelsang made a name for himself as one of the best pilots, far beyond the Swiss aviation scene. But Max Vogelsang always wanted to go further and do more... Vogelsang no longer wanted to just restore aircraft; he wanted to design and build one himself from scratch.
So Max Vogelsang launched the VOTEC (VOgelsang TEChnic) project to build an aerobatic aircraft that would outshine all previous models, comparable to the Extra 300, only far more powerful. The Votec aerobatic aircraft was intended to be lighter, more agile, and more powerful than any other aerobatic aircraft in its class. Vogelsang utilized the most modern aviation design and the best and lightest materials such as carbon fiber, Kevlar, and high-performance aluminum alloys. The construction of the Votec is unparalleled. One of the most important features is the wing's resilience. Max Vogelsang tested the first wing with a hydraulic press – the result was breathtaking – initial material fatigue did not occur before 26G, but the wing could not be broken. The safety limit is +/- 10G, but the aircraft could withstand far more. The performance proved to be phenomenal. Tremendous acceleration in all phases of flight. Extremely precise control. 400°/s roll rate.
MSW Votec gained a reputation far beyond Switzerland's borders, achieving first place finishes in aerobatic flight competitions.
