Questions & Answers
How does a tandem flight work?
After an introduction at the launch site, you and your pilot will get ready for takeoff. After a few quick steps, you'll take off and enjoy a peaceful glide over the stunning landscape of Central Switzerland. The pilot will steer the paraglider—but you can also steer yourself if you wish. And if you're looking for an adrenaline rush, maneuvers are also possible!
Do I need any previous knowledge or special fitness?
No – the flight is designed for beginners. You should be able to take a few quick steps downhill during takeoff, but the rest happens quite comfortably in the air.
How long is the flight?
The actual flight time is between 15 and over 40 minutes, depending on weather and thermal conditions. Plan on a total of two hours, including introduction, preparation, and return flight.
What difference in altitude is overcome during the flight?
When paragliding from Rigi, the difference in altitude is over 1300m.
Can friends and family watch?
Of course! Your companion is welcome to accompany you. The best view is from the landing area, but you can also watch the takeoff and then take the cable car back down.
What happens in bad weather?
Safety is our top priority. In the event of adverse weather conditions such as strong winds, rain, or fog, the flight will be postponed. In this case, we will agree on a new date together—free of charge, of course. The detailed discussion will take place the day before.
Do flights operate all year round?
Yes, in good weather we fly daily all year round.
Can I give the flight as a gift?
Absolutely! A tandem flight makes a perfect gift—for example, for a birthday, anniversary, or as a special holiday highlight. We're happy to issue a voucher upon request.
What should I wear, what equipment do I need?
Dress appropriately for the weather. Wear sturdy, ankle-high shoes with a sturdy sole – hiking boots or sneakers are ideal. Even in summer, a sweater or jacket is recommended for wind protection. We also recommend glasses or sunglasses for the flight – it's best to wear them right away so they don't get lost.
Can I take luggage with me?
Carry only the essentials (clothes, sunglasses, wallet, and cell phone). You can leave the rest in the locker at the train station or in your paraglider pilot's car.
Are photos and videos taken?
Yes, these can be obtained directly from the pilot and downloaded onto your mobile phone for a small additional charge.
Are there any weight and age restrictions?
Up to 90 kg is no problem, up to 110 kg is possible upon request. This must simply be communicated to the pilot in advance during registration. Ages are possible from 6 to 99 years. The pilot must be able to walk a few quick steps for takeoff.
Where do the flights take place?
Our tandem paragliding flights depart from Mount Rigi, the "Queen of the Mountains." The meeting point is at the stairs leading to the valley station of the Goldau-Rigi Kulm cog railway. The landing site is also very close by. The meeting point is easily accessible from Lucerne or Zurich by car or public transport.
