Scenic flights Biel-Kappelen – Three aircraft, one airfield
From Biel-Kappelen airfield, you have three different scenic flight experiences to choose from: the modern Tecnam P2008 with a digital glass cockpit, the historic Cessna 150 classic HB-CMS, and the spacious Robin DR400. All three will take you over the Three Lakes Region, the Jura Mountains, and, if desired, as far as the Bernese Alps.
Your scenic flights from Biel-Kappelen in detail
The Tecnam P2008 is a modern two-seat high-wing aircraft with generous glazing. Depending on availability, either the HB-KML (built in 2017, Garmin G3X avionics) or the HB-KNT (built in 2025, fully digital Garmin G3X touch glass cockpit) is used – the most modern aircraft in the Seeland flying group.
The tailwheel Cessna 150 HB-CMS is a true one-of-a-kind: built in 1964, converted to a tailwheel aircraft in 1992 and equipped with a 180 hp Lycoming engine and a Horton STOL kit, it was also used for a time in Swiss glacier flying. The Robin DR400 HB-EXU, on the other hand, with its characteristic gull wings, offers space for up to three passengers and served for many years as a tow plane for the Schänis Alpine Gliding School.
All three aircraft depart from Biel-Kappelen airfield and, depending on the booked flight duration (30 to 180 minutes), will take you over the Three Lakes Region, the Jura Mountains, the city of Bern, or on longer routes to the Bernese Oberland and the Alps.
