Questions & Answers
When do the aerobatics take place?
Flights usually take place on weekends and in good weather, especially from March to October. After booking, you can schedule a date directly with the pilot.
Where do the flights take place?
The XtremeAir XA42 flights are from the airport Habsheim LFGB from, about 20 minutes from Basel on the French side, near Basel Mulhouse Airport. Don't forget your ID or passport!
What is the recommended flight duration?
The recommended flight duration depends on your experience and fitness. If in doubt, we recommend shorter flights. Longer flights allow for more "stick time" (controlling the aircraft yourself).
Can friends and family watch?
Of course! Your companion is welcome at the airfield to accompany you during flight preparation, the briefing, takeoff, and landing.
Can I take photos or videos?
You are allowed to take photos and videos before and after the flight free of charge. Videos during the flight can be bookedTo do this, make sure to add the video option when booking your flight.
How long does the entire experience last?
The entire flight experience, including preparations and briefing, takes approximately 2 hours.
What is the process?
A short briefing with an introduction to the aerobatic program, including a weather assessment, provides an explanation of the HB-MAD aircraft, a safety briefing, and a tailoring of the aerobatic program to the passenger. Basic maneuvers with g-forces of -2 to a maximum of 5 g are flown. More complex maneuvers with higher loads up to -5/+8 g are discussed with the passenger, depending on their individual needs.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes. Children 12 and older are permitted, and those 12-16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If the pilot lacks the necessary mental maturity, they may refuse to fly. Safety must be guaranteed at all times and is paramount.
What should I wear, what equipment do I need?
Wear comfortable clothing, and maybe bring a spare T-shirt. Adrenaline, excitement, and G-forces have resulted in many a sweaty passenger! You'll be equipped with a flight suit, parachute, and headset.
What are the maximum size and weight?
1.95 m and 90 kg
Are aerobatics dangerous?
Not at all. Take a closer look and, if in doubt, consult your doctor if you have severe back problems, untreated high blood pressure, heart problems/pacemakers, or a fear of flying. Pregnancy is a non-issue. If you have a fear of flying or claustrophobia, you can also try out the seat first while we have another customer. If it doesn't work out, you'll of course get your money back.
Should I be afraid of the flight?
No! Your aerobatic program will be completely tailored to your wishes, your preferences, and, above all, your well-being. Your pilot will be at your side at all times and will ask how you are feeling after each maneuver. Together, you will design your flight program according to your personal preferences. It's not about the pilot demonstrating his or her or the aircraft's capabilities to you – the goal is your maximum enjoyment! Let them know early on if you would like any adjustments – longer breaks between maneuvers, lower G-forces, or changes to the flight schedule. Your well-being is our top priority, and your pilot will do everything to make your aerobatic flight unforgettable.
